Engaging your Inner Healer

A 4 week crash course in taking care of you and your loved ones during a pandemic, in winter.

Thursdays * Jan. 7-28 * 6-8pm PST

This will be a live, interactive online workshop with recordings available to participants.

Space is limited. Sliding Scale. Scholarship available by email.

We are living inside a transforming system. Life as we knew it is just that, and will never be the same. Our lives have been turned upside down due to a global virus, our ecosystems are under serious threat as global warming becomes a living reality, and the systems of oppression that have kept so many of us shrouded are beginning to crumble. It is a deeply unstable time. So how do we go forward in health, and learn to take care of ourselves like our lives depend on it?

In this course, we will look at how to support ourselves and community in the event of getting sick (think: crash course in acute herbal first aid), how to develop and stick to rhythms and rituals that support ongoing health (for ourselves AND our environment) inside this particular pandemic, and examine what constructs hinder us from living with ease and hope. We will draw from Western Traditional Herbal Medicine, TCM, Medical Chi Gong, Movement based therapies, and our own wise bodies. Part lecture, part discussion, part practice, This class is for anyone interested in any of these questions:

  • how do i care for my family/self in the event of a viral infection?

  • how can i engage in preventative care to ease the stress and fear of becoming ill?

  • how do my patterns/practices support or hinder my health?

  • why is health not accessible to all bodies, equally? How do that affect my own health, and what can i do about it?

This will be a small group class to insure a certain level of intimacy and connection among participants, so register early! Articles, podcasts, and creative process ideas will accompany the weekly meetings. If there is enough interest, it will also be available in Spanish. This class is offered on gift economy, go here to find out more about how to contribute. 15% of all contributions will be donated to an organization working for BIPOC health. My hope is that the knowledge we discover together will provide lasting support for you and your community.

“Another option is available now too. Instead of doubling down on control, we could finally embrace the holistic paradigms and practices that have been waiting on the margins, waiting for the center to dissolve so that, in our humbled state, we can bring them into the center and build a new system around them.” -Charles Eisenstein
